Psalms 91

  1. 1<pb/><t>Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High</t> <t>will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.<f>[176]</f></t>
  2. 2<t>I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,</t> <t>my God, in whom I trust.” <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Surely he will save you</t> <t>from the fowler’s snare</t> <t>and from the deadly pestilence.</t>
  4. 4<t>He will cover you with his feathers,</t> <t>and under his wings you will find refuge;</t> <t>his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.</t>
  5. 5<t>You will not fear the terror of night,</t> <t>nor the arrow that flies by day,</t>
  6. 6<t>nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,</t> <t>nor the plague that destroys at midday.</t>
  7. 7<t>A thousand may fall at your side,</t> <t>ten thousand at your right hand,</t> <t>but it will not come near you.</t>
  8. 8<t>You will only observe with your eyes</t> <t>and see the punishment of the wicked. <pb/></t>
  9. 9<t>If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,”</t> <t>and you make the Most High your dwelling,</t>
  10. 10<t>no harm will overtake you,</t> <t>no disaster will come near your tent.</t>
  11. 11<t>For he will command his angels concerning you</t> <t>to guard you in all your ways;</t>
  12. 12<t>they will lift you up in their hands,</t> <t>so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.</t>
  13. 13<t>You will tread on the lion and the cobra;</t> <t>you will trample the great lion and the serpent. <pb/></t>
  14. 14<t>“Because he<f>[177]</f> loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him;</t> <t>I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.</t>
  15. 15<t>He will call on me, and I will answer him;</t> <t>I will be with him in trouble,</t> <t>I will deliver him and honor him.</t>
  16. 16<t>With long life I will satisfy him</t> <t>and show him my salvation.”</t>
