Psalms 84

  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. According to gittith.</e><f>[156]</f> Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. <pb/><t>How lovely is your dwelling place,</t> <t>LORD Almighty!</t>
  2. 2<t>My soul yearns, even faints,</t> <t>for the courts of the LORD;</t> <t>my heart and my flesh cry out</t> <t>for the living God.</t>
  3. 3<t>Even the sparrow has found a home,</t> <t>and the swallow a nest for herself,</t> <t>where she may have her young—</t> <t>a place near your altar,</t> <t>LORD Almighty, my King and my God.</t>
  4. 4<t>Blessed are those who dwell in your house;</t> <t>they are ever praising you.<f>[157]</f> <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>Blessed are those whose strength is in you,</t> <t>whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.</t>
  6. 6<t>As they pass through the Valley of Baka,</t> <t>they make it a place of springs;</t> <t>the autumn rains also cover it with pools.<f>[158]</f></t>
  7. 7<t>They go from strength to strength,</t> <t>till each appears before God in Zion. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>Hear my prayer, LORD God Almighty;</t> <t>listen to me, God of Jacob.</t>
  9. 9<t>Look on our shield,<f>[159]</f> O God;</t> <t>look with favor on your anointed one. <pb/></t>
  10. 10<t>Better is one day in your courts</t> <t>than a thousand elsewhere;</t> <t>I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God</t> <t>than dwell in the tents of the wicked.</t>
  11. 11<t>For the LORD God is a sun and shield;</t> <t>the LORD bestows favor and honor;</t> <t>no good thing does he withhold</t> <t>from those whose walk is blameless. <pb/></t>
  12. 12<t>LORD Almighty,</t> <t>blessed is the one who trusts in you.</t>
