Psalms 64
- 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint;</t> <t>protect my life from the threat of the enemy. <pb/></t>
- 2<t>Hide me from the conspiracy of the wicked,</t> <t>from the plots of evildoers.</t>
- 3<t>They sharpen their tongues like swords</t> <t>and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.</t>
- 4<t>They shoot from ambush at the innocent;</t> <t>they shoot suddenly, without fear. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>They encourage each other in evil plans,</t> <t>they talk about hiding their snares;</t> <t>they say, “Who will see it<f>[116]</f>?”</t>
- 6<t>They plot injustice and say,</t> <t>“We have devised a perfect plan!”</t> <t>Surely the human mind and heart are cunning. <pb/></t>
- 7<t>But God will shoot them with his arrows;</t> <t>they will suddenly be struck down.</t>
- 8<t>He will turn their own tongues against them</t> <t>and bring them to ruin;</t> <t>all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.</t>
- 9<t>All people will fear;</t> <t>they will proclaim the works of God</t> <t>and ponder what he has done. <pb/></t>
- 10<t>The righteous will rejoice in the LORD</t> <t>and take refuge in him;</t> <t>all the upright in heart will glory in him!</t>
