Psalms 46

  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. According to alamoth.</e><f>[76]</f> A song. <pb/><t>God is our refuge and strength,</t> <t>an ever-present help in trouble.</t>
  2. 2<t>Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way</t> <t>and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,</t>
  3. 3<t>though its waters roar and foam</t> <t>and the mountains quake with their surging.<f>[77]</f> <pb/></t>
  4. 4<t>There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,</t> <t>the holy place where the Most High dwells.</t>
  5. 5<t>God is within her, she will not fall;</t> <t>God will help her at break of day.</t>
  6. 6<t>Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;</t> <t>he lifts his voice, the earth melts. <pb/></t>
  7. 7<t>The LORD Almighty is with us;</t> <t>the God of Jacob is our fortress. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>Come and see what the LORD has done,</t> <t>the desolations he has brought on the earth.</t>
  9. 9<t>He makes wars cease</t> <t>to the ends of the earth.</t> <t>He breaks the bow and shatters the spear;</t> <t>he burns the shields<f>[78]</f> with fire.</t>
  10. 10<t>He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;</t> <t>I will be exalted among the nations,</t> <t>I will be exalted in the earth.” <pb/></t>
  11. 11<t>The LORD Almighty is with us;</t> <t>the God of Jacob is our fortress.</t>
