Psalms 32
- 1<pb/><e>Of David. A maskil.</e><f>[51]</f> <pb/><t>Blessed is the one</t> <t>whose transgressions are forgiven,</t> <t>whose sins are covered.</t>
- 2<t>Blessed is the one</t> <t>whose sin the LORD does not count against them</t> <t>and in whose spirit is no deceit. <pb/></t>
- 3<t>When I kept silent,</t> <t>my bones wasted away</t> <t>through my groaning all day long.</t>
- 4<t>For day and night</t> <t>your hand was heavy on me;</t> <t>my strength was sapped</t> <t>as in the heat of summer.<f>[52]</f> <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Then I acknowledged my sin to you</t> <t>and did not cover up my iniquity.</t> <t>I said, “I will confess</t> <t>my transgressions to the LORD.”</t> <t>And you forgave</t> <t>the guilt of my sin. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>Therefore let all the faithful pray to you</t> <t>while you may be found;</t> <t>surely the rising of the mighty waters</t> <t>will not reach them.</t>
- 7<t>You are my hiding place;</t> <t>you will protect me from trouble</t> <t>and surround me with songs of deliverance. <pb/></t>
- 8<t>I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;</t> <t>I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.</t>
- 9<t>Do not be like the horse or the mule,</t> <t>which have no understanding</t> <t>but must be controlled by bit and bridle</t> <t>or they will not come to you.</t>
- 10<t>Many are the woes of the wicked,</t> <t>but the LORD’s unfailing love</t> <t>surrounds the one who trusts in him. <pb/></t>
- 11<t>Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous;</t> <t>sing, all you who are upright in heart!</t>
