Psalms 30
- 1<pb/><e>A psalm. A song. For the dedication of the temple.<f>[48]</f> Of David.</e> <pb/><t>I will exalt you, LORD,</t> <t>for you lifted me out of the depths</t> <t>and did not let my enemies gloat over me.</t>
- 2<t>LORD my God, I called to you for help,</t> <t>and you healed me.</t>
- 3<t>You, LORD, brought me up from the realm of the dead;</t> <t>you spared me from going down to the pit. <pb/></t>
- 4<t>Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people;</t> <t>praise his holy name.</t>
- 5<t>For his anger lasts only a moment,</t> <t>but his favor lasts a lifetime;</t> <t>weeping may stay for the night,</t> <t>but rejoicing comes in the morning. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>When I felt secure, I said,</t> <t>“I will never be shaken.”</t>
- 7<t>LORD, when you favored me,</t> <t>you made my royal mountain<f>[49]</f> stand firm;</t> <t>but when you hid your face,</t> <t>I was dismayed. <pb/></t>
- 8<t>To you, LORD, I called;</t> <t>to the Lord I cried for mercy:</t>
- 9<t>“What is gained if I am silenced,</t> <t>if I go down to the pit?</t> <t>Will the dust praise you?</t> <t>Will it proclaim your faithfulness?</t>
- 10<t>Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me;</t> <t>LORD, be my help.” <pb/></t>
- 11<t>You turned my wailing into dancing;</t> <t>you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy,</t>
- 12<t>that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.</t> <t>LORD my God, I will praise you forever.</t>
