Psalms 28

  1. 1<pb/><e>Of David.</e> <pb/><t>To you, LORD, I call;</t> <t>you are my Rock,</t> <t>do not turn a deaf ear to me.</t> <t>For if you remain silent,</t> <t>I will be like those who go down to the pit.</t>
  2. 2<t>Hear my cry for mercy</t> <t>as I call to you for help,</t> <t>as I lift up my hands</t> <t>toward your Most Holy Place. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Do not drag me away with the wicked,</t> <t>with those who do evil,</t> <t>who speak cordially with their neighbors</t> <t>but harbor malice in their hearts.</t>
  4. 4<t>Repay them for their deeds</t> <t>and for their evil work;</t> <t>repay them for what their hands have done</t> <t>and bring back on them what they deserve. <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>Because they have no regard for the deeds of the LORD</t> <t>and what his hands have done,</t> <t>he will tear them down</t> <t>and never build them up again. <pb/></t>
  6. 6<t>Praise be to the LORD,</t> <t>for he has heard my cry for mercy.</t>
  7. 7<t>The LORD is my strength and my shield;</t> <t>my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.</t> <t>My heart leaps for joy,</t> <t>and with my song I praise him. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>The LORD is the strength of his people,</t> <t>a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.</t>
  9. 9<t>Save your people and bless your inheritance;</t> <t>be their shepherd and carry them forever.</t>
