Psalms 20

  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;</t> <t>may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.</t>
  2. 2<t>May he send you help from the sanctuary</t> <t>and grant you support from Zion.</t>
  3. 3<t>May he remember all your sacrifices</t> <t>and accept your burnt offerings.<f>[31]</f></t>
  4. 4<t>May he give you the desire of your heart</t> <t>and make all your plans succeed.</t>
  5. 5<t>May we shout for joy over your victory</t> <t>and lift up our banners in the name of our God. <pb/>May the LORD grant all your requests. <pb/></t>
  6. 6<t>Now this I know:</t> <t>The LORD gives victory to his anointed.</t> <t>He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary</t> <t>with the victorious power of his right hand.</t>
  7. 7<t>Some trust in chariots and some in horses,</t> <t>but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.</t>
  8. 8<t>They are brought to their knees and fall,</t> <t>but we rise up and stand firm.</t>
  9. 9<t>LORD, give victory to the king!</t> <t>Answer us when we call!</t>
