Psalms 19
- 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>The heavens declare the glory of God;</t> <t>the skies proclaim the work of his hands.</t>
- 2<t>Day after day they pour forth speech;</t> <t>night after night they reveal knowledge.</t>
- 3<t>They have no speech, they use no words;</t> <t>no sound is heard from them.</t>
- 4<t>Yet their voice<f>[30]</f> goes out into all the earth,</t> <t>their words to the ends of the world.</t> <t>In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.</t>
- 5<t>It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,</t> <t>like a champion rejoicing to run his course.</t>
- 6<t>It rises at one end of the heavens</t> <t>and makes its circuit to the other;</t> <t>nothing is deprived of its warmth. <pb/></t>
- 7<t>The law of the LORD is perfect,</t> <t>refreshing the soul.</t> <t>The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy,</t> <t>making wise the simple.</t>
- 8<t>The precepts of the LORD are right,</t> <t>giving joy to the heart.</t> <t>The commands of the LORD are radiant,</t> <t>giving light to the eyes.</t>
- 9<t>The fear of the LORD is pure,</t> <t>enduring forever.</t> <t>The decrees of the LORD are firm,</t> <t>and all of them are righteous. <pb/></t>
- 10<t>They are more precious than gold,</t> <t>than much pure gold;</t> <t>they are sweeter than honey,</t> <t>than honey from the honeycomb.</t>
- 11<t>By them your servant is warned;</t> <t>in keeping them there is great reward.</t>
- 12<t>But who can discern their own errors?</t> <t>Forgive my hidden faults.</t>
- 13<t>Keep your servant also from willful sins;</t> <t>may they not rule over me.</t> <t>Then I will be blameless,</t> <t>innocent of great transgression. <pb/></t>
- 14<t>May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart</t> <t>be pleasing in your sight,</t> <t>LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.</t>
