Psalms 143
- 1<pb/><e>A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>LORD, hear my prayer,</t> <t>listen to my cry for mercy;</t> <t>in your faithfulness and righteousness</t> <t>come to my relief.</t>
- 2<t>Do not bring your servant into judgment,</t> <t>for no one living is righteous before you.</t>
- 3<t>The enemy pursues me,</t> <t>he crushes me to the ground;</t> <t>he makes me dwell in the darkness</t> <t>like those long dead.</t>
- 4<t>So my spirit grows faint within me;</t> <t>my heart within me is dismayed.</t>
- 5<t>I remember the days of long ago;</t> <t>I meditate on all your works</t> <t>and consider what your hands have done.</t>
- 6<t>I spread out my hands to you;</t> <t>I thirst for you like a parched land.<f>[223]</f> <pb/></t>
- 7<t>Answer me quickly, LORD;</t> <t>my spirit fails.</t> <t>Do not hide your face from me</t> <t>or I will be like those who go down to the pit.</t>
- 8<t>Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,</t> <t>for I have put my trust in you.</t> <t>Show me the way I should go,</t> <t>for to you I entrust my life.</t>
- 9<t>Rescue me from my enemies, LORD,</t> <t>for I hide myself in you.</t>
- 10<t>Teach me to do your will,</t> <t>for you are my God;</t> <t>may your good Spirit</t> <t>lead me on level ground. <pb/></t>
- 11<t>For your name’s sake, LORD, preserve my life;</t> <t>in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.</t>
- 12<t>In your unfailing love, silence my enemies;</t> <t>destroy all my foes,</t> <t>for I am your servant.</t>
