Psalms 141
- 1<pb/><e>A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>I call to you, LORD, come quickly to me;</t> <t>hear me when I call to you.</t>
- 2<t>May my prayer be set before you like incense;</t> <t>may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice. <pb/></t>
- 3<t>Set a guard over my mouth, LORD;</t> <t>keep watch over the door of my lips.</t>
- 4<t>Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil</t> <t>so that I take part in wicked deeds</t> <t>along with those who are evildoers;</t> <t>do not let me eat their delicacies. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Let a righteous man strike me—that is a kindness;</t> <t>let him rebuke me—that is oil on my head.</t> <t>My head will not refuse it,</t> <t>for my prayer will still be against the deeds of evildoers. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>Their rulers will be thrown down from the cliffs,</t> <t>and the wicked will learn that my words were well spoken.</t>
- 7<t>They will say, “As one plows and breaks up the earth,</t> <t>so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of the grave.” <pb/></t>
- 8<t>But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign LORD;</t> <t>in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death.</t>
- 9<t>Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers,</t> <t>from the snares they have laid for me.</t>
- 10<t>Let the wicked fall into their own nets,</t> <t>while I pass by in safety.</t>
