Isaiah 62
- 1<pb/><t>For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,</t> <t>for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,</t> <t>till her vindication shines out like the dawn,</t> <t>her salvation like a blazing torch.</t>
- 2<t>The nations will see your vindication,</t> <t>and all kings your glory;</t> <t>you will be called by a new name</t> <t>that the mouth of the LORD will bestow.</t>
- 3<t>You will be a crown of splendor in the LORD’s hand,</t> <t>a royal diadem in the hand of your God.</t>
- 4<t>No longer will they call you Deserted,</t> <t>or name your land Desolate.</t> <t>But you will be called Hephzibah,<f>[116]</f></t> <t>and your land Beulah<f>[117]</f>;</t> <t>for the LORD will take delight in you,</t> <t>and your land will be married.</t>
- 5<t>As a young man marries a young woman,</t> <t>so will your Builder marry you;</t> <t>as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride,</t> <t>so will your God rejoice over you. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem;</t> <t>they will never be silent day or night.</t> <t>You who call on the LORD,</t> <t>give yourselves no rest,</t>
- 7<t>and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem</t> <t>and makes her the praise of the earth. <pb/></t>
- 8<t>The LORD has sworn by his right hand</t> <t>and by his mighty arm:</t> <t>“Never again will I give your grain</t> <t>as food for your enemies,</t> <t>and never again will foreigners drink the new wine</t> <t>for which you have toiled;</t>
- 9<t>but those who harvest it will eat it</t> <t>and praise the LORD,</t> <t>and those who gather the grapes will drink it</t> <t>in the courts of my sanctuary.” <pb/></t>
- 10<t>Pass through, pass through the gates!</t> <t>Prepare the way for the people.</t> <t>Build up, build up the highway!</t> <t>Remove the stones.</t> <t>Raise a banner for the nations. <pb/></t>
- 11<t>The LORD has made proclamation</t> <t>to the ends of the earth:</t> <t>“Say to Daughter Zion,</t> <t>‘See, your Savior comes!</t> <t>See, his reward is with him,</t> <t>and his recompense accompanies him.’ ”</t>
- 12<t>They will be called the Holy People,</t> <t>the Redeemed of the LORD;</t> <t>and you will be called Sought After,</t> <t>the City No Longer Deserted.</t>
