  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. To the tune of “The Lilies of the Covenant.” Of Asaph. A psalm.</e> <pb/><t>Hear us, Shepherd of Israel,</t> <t>you who lead Joseph like a flock.</t> <t>You who sit enthroned between the cherubim,</t> <t>shine forth</t>
  2. 2<t>before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh.</t> <t>Awaken your might;</t> <t>come and save us. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Restore us, O God;</t> <t>make your face shine on us,</t> <t>that we may be saved. <pb/></t>
  4. 4<t>How long, LORD God Almighty,</t> <t>will your anger smolder</t> <t>against the prayers of your people?</t>
  5. 5<t>You have fed them with the bread of tears;</t> <t>you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.</t>
  6. 6<t>You have made us an object of derision<f>[147]</f> to our neighbors,</t> <t>and our enemies mock us. <pb/></t>
  7. 7<t>Restore us, God Almighty;</t> <t>make your face shine on us,</t> <t>that we may be saved. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>You transplanted a vine from Egypt;</t> <t>you drove out the nations and planted it.</t>
  9. 9<t>You cleared the ground for it,</t> <t>and it took root and filled the land.</t>
  10. 10<t>The mountains were covered with its shade,</t> <t>the mighty cedars with its branches.</t>
  11. 11<t>Its branches reached as far as the Sea,<f>[148]</f></t> <t>its shoots as far as the River.<f>[149]</f> <pb/></t>
  12. 12<t>Why have you broken down its walls</t> <t>so that all who pass by pick its grapes?</t>
  13. 13<t>Boars from the forest ravage it,</t> <t>and insects from the fields feed on it.</t>
  14. 14<t>Return to us, God Almighty!</t> <t>Look down from heaven and see!</t> <t>Watch over this vine,</t>
  15. 15<t>the root your right hand has planted,</t> <t>the son<f>[150]</f> you have raised up for yourself. <pb/></t>
  16. 16<t>Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire;</t> <t>at your rebuke your people perish.</t>
  17. 17<t>Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand,</t> <t>the son of man you have raised up for yourself.</t>
  18. 18<t>Then we will not turn away from you;</t> <t>revive us, and we will call on your name. <pb/></t>
