Psalms 66
- 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. A song. A psalm.</e> <pb/><t>Shout for joy to God, all the earth!</t>
- 2<t>Sing the glory of his name;</t> <t>make his praise glorious.</t>
- 3<t>Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!</t> <t>So great is your power</t> <t>that your enemies cringe before you.</t>
- 4<t>All the earth bows down to you;</t> <t>they sing praise to you,</t> <t>they sing the praises of your name.”<f>[120]</f> <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Come and see what God has done,</t> <t>his awesome deeds for mankind!</t>
- 6<t>He turned the sea into dry land,</t> <t>they passed through the waters on foot—</t> <t>come, let us rejoice in him.</t>
- 7<t>He rules forever by his power,</t> <t>his eyes watch the nations—</t> <t>let not the rebellious rise up against him. <pb/></t>
- 8<t>Praise our God, all peoples,</t> <t>let the sound of his praise be heard;</t>
- 9<t>he has preserved our lives</t> <t>and kept our feet from slipping.</t>
- 10<t>For you, God, tested us;</t> <t>you refined us like silver.</t>
- 11<t>You brought us into prison</t> <t>and laid burdens on our backs.</t>
- 12<t>You let people ride over our heads;</t> <t>we went through fire and water,</t> <t>but you brought us to a place of abundance. <pb/></t>
- 13<t>I will come to your temple with burnt offerings</t> <t>and fulfill my vows to you—</t>
- 14<t>vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke</t> <t>when I was in trouble.</t>
- 15<t>I will sacrifice fat animals to you</t> <t>and an offering of rams;</t> <t>I will offer bulls and goats. <pb/></t>
- 16<t>Come and hear, all you who fear God;</t> <t>let me tell you what he has done for me.</t>
- 17<t>I cried out to him with my mouth;</t> <t>his praise was on my tongue.</t>
- 18<t>If I had cherished sin in my heart,</t> <t>the Lord would not have listened;</t>
- 19<t>but God has surely listened</t> <t>and has heard my prayer.</t>
- 20<t>Praise be to God,</t> <t>who has not rejected my prayer</t> <t>or withheld his love from me!</t>
