Psalms 62

  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.</e> <pb/><t>Truly my soul finds rest in God;</t> <t>my salvation comes from him.</t>
  2. 2<t>Truly he is my rock and my salvation;</t> <t>he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>How long will you assault me?</t> <t>Would all of you throw me down—</t> <t>this leaning wall, this tottering fence?</t>
  4. 4<t>Surely they intend to topple me</t> <t>from my lofty place;</t> <t>they take delight in lies.</t> <t>With their mouths they bless,</t> <t>but in their hearts they curse.<f>[114]</f> <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>Yes, my soul, find rest in God;</t> <t>my hope comes from him.</t>
  6. 6<t>Truly he is my rock and my salvation;</t> <t>he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.</t>
  7. 7<t>My salvation and my honor depend on God<f>[115]</f>;</t> <t>he is my mighty rock, my refuge.</t>
  8. 8<t>Trust in him at all times, you people;</t> <t>pour out your hearts to him,</t> <t>for God is our refuge. <pb/></t>
  9. 9<t>Surely the lowborn are but a breath,</t> <t>the highborn are but a lie.</t> <t>If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;</t> <t>together they are only a breath.</t>
  10. 10<t>Do not trust in extortion</t> <t>or put vain hope in stolen goods;</t> <t>though your riches increase,</t> <t>do not set your heart on them. <pb/></t>
  11. 11<t>One thing God has spoken,</t> <t>two things I have heard:</t> <t>“Power belongs to you, God,</t>
  12. 12<t>and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;</t> <t>and, “You reward everyone</t> <t>according to what they have done.”</t>
