Psalms 57

A miktam.</e><f>[102]</f> When he had fled from Saul into the cave. <pb/><t>Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,</t> <t>for in you I take refuge.</t> <t>I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings</t> <t>until the disaster has passed. <pb/></t>
- 2<t>I cry out to God Most High,</t> <t>to God, who vindicates me.</t>
- 3<t>He sends from heaven and saves me,</t> <t>rebuking those who hotly pursue me—<f>[103]</f></t> <t>God sends forth his love and his faithfulness. <pb/></t>
- 4<t>I am in the midst of lions;</t> <t>I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—</t> <t>men whose teeth are spears and arrows,</t> <t>whose tongues are sharp swords. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;</t> <t>let your glory be over all the earth. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>They spread a net for my feet—</t> <t>I was bowed down in distress.</t> <t>They dug a pit in my path—</t> <t>but they have fallen into it themselves. <pb/></t>
