Psalms 54
- 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A maskil</e><f>[95]</f> of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?” <pb/><t>Save me, O God, by your name;</t> <t>vindicate me by your might.</t>
- 2<t>Hear my prayer, O God;</t> <t>listen to the words of my mouth. <pb/></t>
- 3<t>Arrogant foes are attacking me;</t> <t>ruthless people are trying to kill me—</t> <t>people without regard for God.<f>[96]</f> <pb/></t>
- 4<t>Surely God is my help;</t> <t>the Lord is the one who sustains me. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Let evil recoil on those who slander me;</t> <t>in your faithfulness destroy them. <pb/></t>
- 6<t>I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;</t> <t>I will praise your name, LORD, for it is good.</t>
- 7<t>You have delivered me from all my troubles,</t> <t>and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.</t>
