Psalms 36
- 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. Of David the servant of the LORD.</e> <pb/><t>I have a message from God in my heart</t> <t>concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:<f>[56]</f></t> <t>There is no fear of God</t> <t>before their eyes. <pb/></t>
- 2<t>In their own eyes they flatter themselves</t> <t>too much to detect or hate their sin.</t>
- 3<t>The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful;</t> <t>they fail to act wisely or do good.</t>
- 4<t>Even on their beds they plot evil;</t> <t>they commit themselves to a sinful course</t> <t>and do not reject what is wrong. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>Your love, LORD, reaches to the heavens,</t> <t>your faithfulness to the skies.</t>
- 6<t>Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,</t> <t>your justice like the great deep.</t> <t>You, LORD, preserve both people and animals.</t>
- 7<t>How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!</t> <t>People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.</t>
- 8<t>They feast on the abundance of your house;</t> <t>you give them drink from your river of delights.</t>
- 9<t>For with you is the fountain of life;</t> <t>in your light we see light. <pb/></t>
- 10<t>Continue your love to those who know you,</t> <t>your righteousness to the upright in heart.</t>
- 11<t>May the foot of the proud not come against me,</t> <t>nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.</t>
- 12<t>See how the evildoers lie fallen—</t> <t>thrown down, not able to rise!</t>
