Psalms 34

  1. 1<pb/><e>Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.</e> <pb/><t>I will extol the LORD at all times;</t> <t>his praise will always be on my lips.</t>
  2. 2<t>I will glory in the LORD;</t> <t>let the afflicted hear and rejoice.</t>
  3. 3<t>Glorify the LORD with me;</t> <t>let us exalt his name together. <pb/></t>
  4. 4<t>I sought the LORD, and he answered me;</t> <t>he delivered me from all my fears.</t>
  5. 5<t>Those who look to him are radiant;</t> <t>their faces are never covered with shame.</t>
  6. 6<t>This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;</t> <t>he saved him out of all his troubles.</t>
  7. 7<t>The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,</t> <t>and he delivers them. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>Taste and see that the LORD is good;</t> <t>blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.</t>
  9. 9<t>Fear the LORD, you his holy people,</t> <t>for those who fear him lack nothing.</t>
  10. 10<t>The lions may grow weak and hungry,</t> <t>but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.</t>
  11. 11<t>Come, my children, listen to me;</t> <t>I will teach you the fear of the LORD.</t>
  12. 12<t>Whoever of you loves life</t> <t>and desires to see many good days,</t>
  13. 13<t>keep your tongue from evil</t> <t>and your lips from telling lies.</t>
  14. 14<t>Turn from evil and do good;</t> <t>seek peace and pursue it. <pb/></t>
  15. 15<t>The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous,</t> <t>and his ears are attentive to their cry;</t>
  16. 16<t>but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,</t> <t>to blot out their name from the earth. <pb/></t>
  17. 17<t>The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;</t> <t>he delivers them from all their troubles.</t>
  18. 18<t>The LORD is close to the brokenhearted</t> <t>and saves those who are crushed in spirit. <pb/></t>
  19. 19<t>The righteous person may have many troubles,</t> <t>but the LORD delivers him from them all;</t>
  20. 20<t>he protects all his bones,</t> <t>not one of them will be broken. <pb/></t>
  21. 21<t>Evil will slay the wicked;</t> <t>the foes of the righteous will be condemned.</t>
  22. 22<t>The LORD will rescue his servants;</t> <t>no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.</t>
