  1. 1<pb/><e>A psalm of David. When he fled from his son Absalom.</e> <pb/><t>LORD, how many are my foes!</t> <t>How many rise up against me!</t>
  2. 2<t>Many are saying of me,</t> <t>“God will not deliver him.”<f>[3]</f> <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>But you, LORD, are a shield around me,</t> <t>my glory, the One who lifts my head high.</t>
  4. 4<t>I call out to the LORD,</t> <t>and he answers me from his holy mountain. <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>I lie down and sleep;</t> <t>I wake again, because the LORD sustains me.</t>
  6. 6<t>I will not fear though tens of thousands</t> <t>assail me on every side. <pb/></t>
  7. 7<t>Arise, LORD!</t> <t>Deliver me, my God!</t> <t>Strike all my enemies on the jaw;</t> <t>break the teeth of the wicked. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>From the LORD comes deliverance.</t> <t>May your blessing be on your people.</t>
