Isaiah 35

  1. 1<pb/><t>The desert and the parched land will be glad;</t> <t>the wilderness will rejoice and blossom.</t> <t>Like the crocus,</t>
  2. 2<t>it will burst into bloom;</t> <t>it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.</t> <t>The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,</t> <t>the splendor of Carmel and Sharon;</t> <t>they will see the glory of the LORD,</t> <t>the splendor of our God. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Strengthen the feeble hands,</t> <t>steady the knees that give way;</t>
  4. 4<t>say to those with fearful hearts,</t> <t>“Be strong, do not fear;</t> <t>your God will come,</t> <t>he will come with vengeance;</t> <t>with divine retribution</t> <t>he will come to save you.” <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>Then will the eyes of the blind be opened</t> <t>and the ears of the deaf unstopped.</t>
  6. 6<t>Then will the lame leap like a deer,</t> <t>and the mute tongue shout for joy.</t> <t>Water will gush forth in the wilderness</t> <t>and streams in the desert.</t>
  7. 7<t>The burning sand will become a pool,</t> <t>the thirsty ground bubbling springs.</t> <t>In the haunts where jackals once lay,</t> <t>grass and reeds and papyrus will grow. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>And a highway will be there;</t> <t>it will be called the Way of Holiness;</t> <t>it will be for those who walk on that Way.</t> <t>The unclean will not journey on it;</t> <t>wicked fools will not go about on it.</t>
  9. 9<t>No lion will be there,</t> <t>nor any ravenous beast;</t> <t>they will not be found there.</t> <t>But only the redeemed will walk there,</t>
  10. 10<t>and those the LORD has rescued will return.</t> <t>They will enter Zion with singing;</t> <t>everlasting joy will crown their heads.</t> <t>Gladness and joy will overtake them,</t> <t>and sorrow and sighing will flee away.</t>
