Isaiah 15
- 1<pb/>A prophecy against Moab: <pb/><t>Ar in Moab is ruined,</t> <t>destroyed in a night!</t> <t>Kir in Moab is ruined,</t> <t>destroyed in a night!</t>
- 2<t>Dibon goes up to its temple,</t> <t>to its high places to weep;</t> <t>Moab wails over Nebo and Medeba.</t> <t>Every head is shaved</t> <t>and every beard cut off.</t>
- 3<t>In the streets they wear sackcloth;</t> <t>on the roofs and in the public squares</t> <t>they all wail,</t> <t>prostrate with weeping.</t>
- 4<t>Heshbon and Elealeh cry out,</t> <t>their voices are heard all the way to Jahaz.</t> <t>Therefore the armed men of Moab cry out,</t> <t>and their hearts are faint. <pb/></t>
- 5<t>My heart cries out over Moab;</t> <t>her fugitives flee as far as Zoar,</t> <t>as far as Eglath Shelishiyah.</t> <t>They go up the hill to Luhith,</t> <t>weeping as they go;</t> <t>on the road to Horonaim</t> <t>they lament their destruction.</t>
- 6<t>The waters of Nimrim are dried up</t> <t>and the grass is withered;</t> <t>the vegetation is gone</t> <t>and nothing green is left.</t>
- 7<t>So the wealth they have acquired and stored up</t> <t>they carry away over the Ravine of the Poplars.</t>
- 8<t>Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab;</t> <t>their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim,</t> <t>their lamentation as far as Beer Elim.</t>
- 9<t>The waters of Dimon<f>[38]</f> are full of blood,</t> <t>but I will bring still more upon Dimon<f>[39]</f>—</t> <t>a lion upon the fugitives of Moab</t> <t>and upon those who remain in the land.</t>
