- 25<pb/><t>“ ‘The ships of Tarshish serve</t> <t>as carriers for your wares.</t> <t>You are filled with heavy cargo</t> <t>as you sail the sea.</t>
- 26<t>Your oarsmen take you</t> <t>out to the high seas.</t> <t>But the east wind will break you to pieces</t> <t>far out at sea.</t>
- 27<t>Your wealth, merchandise and wares,</t> <t>your mariners, sailors and shipwrights,</t> <t>your merchants and all your soldiers,</t> <t>and everyone else on board</t> <t>will sink into the heart of the sea</t> <t>on the day of your shipwreck.</t>

- 32<t>As they wail and mourn over you,</t> <t>they will take up a lament concerning you:</t> <t>“Who was ever silenced like Tyre,</t> <t>surrounded by the sea?”</t>
- 33<t>When your merchandise went out on the seas,</t> <t>you satisfied many nations;</t> <t>with your great wealth and your wares</t> <t>you enriched the kings of the earth.</t>
- 34<t>Now you are shattered by the sea</t> <t>in the depths of the waters;</t> <t>your wares and all your company</t> <t>have gone down with you.</t>
- 35<t>All who live in the coastlands</t> <t>are appalled at you;</t> <t>their kings shudder with horror</t> <t>and their faces are distorted with fear.</t>
- 36<t>The merchants among the nations scoff at you;</t> <t>you have come to a horrible end</t> <t>and will be no more.’ ”</t>
