Psalms 14

  1. 1<pb/><e>For the director of music. Of David.</e> <pb/><t>The fool<f>[22]</f> says in his heart,</t> <t>“There is no God.”</t> <t>They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;</t> <t>there is no one who does good. <pb/></t>
  2. 2<t>The LORD looks down from heaven</t> <t>on all mankind</t> <t>to see if there are any who understand,</t> <t>any who seek God.</t>
  3. 3<t>All have turned away, all have become corrupt;</t> <t>there is no one who does good,</t> <t>not even one. <pb/></t>
  4. 4<t>Do all these evildoers know nothing? <pb/>They devour my people as though eating bread;</t> <t>they never call on the LORD.</t>
  5. 5<t>But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,</t> <t>for God is present in the company of the righteous.</t>
  6. 6<t>You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor,</t> <t>but the LORD is their refuge. <pb/></t>
  7. 7<t>Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!</t> <t>When the LORD restores his people,</t> <t>let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!</t>
