Psalms 135

  1. 1<pb/><t>Praise the LORD.<f>[218]</f> <pb/>Praise the name of the LORD;</t> <t>praise him, you servants of the LORD,</t>
  2. 2<t>you who minister in the house of the LORD,</t> <t>in the courts of the house of our God. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good;</t> <t>sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.</t>
  4. 4<t>For the LORD has chosen Jacob to be his own,</t> <t>Israel to be his treasured possession. <pb/></t>
  5. 5<t>I know that the LORD is great,</t> <t>that our Lord is greater than all gods.</t>
  6. 6<t>The LORD does whatever pleases him,</t> <t>in the heavens and on the earth,</t> <t>in the seas and all their depths.</t>
  7. 7<t>He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;</t> <t>he sends lightning with the rain</t> <t>and brings out the wind from his storehouses. <pb/></t>
  8. 8<t>He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,</t> <t>the firstborn of people and animals.</t>
  9. 9<t>He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt,</t> <t>against Pharaoh and all his servants.</t>
  10. 10<t>He struck down many nations</t> <t>and killed mighty kings—</t>
  11. 11<t>Sihon king of the Amorites,</t> <t>Og king of Bashan,</t> <t>and all the kings of Canaan—</t>
  12. 12<t>and he gave their land as an inheritance,</t> <t>an inheritance to his people Israel. <pb/></t>
  13. 13<t>Your name, LORD, endures forever,</t> <t>your renown, LORD, through all generations.</t>
  14. 14<t>For the LORD will vindicate his people</t> <t>and have compassion on his servants. <pb/></t>
  15. 15<t>The idols of the nations are silver and gold,</t> <t>made by human hands.</t>
  16. 16<t>They have mouths, but cannot speak,</t> <t>eyes, but cannot see.</t>
  17. 17<t>They have ears, but cannot hear,</t> <t>nor is there breath in their mouths.</t>
  18. 18<t>Those who make them will be like them,</t> <t>and so will all who trust in them. <pb/></t>
  19. 19<t>All you Israelites, praise the LORD;</t> <t>house of Aaron, praise the LORD;</t>
  20. 20<t>house of Levi, praise the LORD;</t> <t>you who fear him, praise the LORD.</t>
  21. 21<t>Praise be to the LORD from Zion,</t> <t>to him who dwells in Jerusalem. <pb/>Praise the LORD.</t>
