Psalms 129
- 1<pb/><e>A song of ascents.</e> <pb/><t>“They have greatly oppressed me from my youth,”</t> <t>let Israel say;</t>
- 2<t>“they have greatly oppressed me from my youth,</t> <t>but they have not gained the victory over me.</t>
- 3<t>Plowmen have plowed my back</t> <t>and made their furrows long.</t>
- 4<t>But the LORD is righteous;</t> <t>he has cut me free from the cords of the wicked.” <pb/></t>
- 5<t>May all who hate Zion</t> <t>be turned back in shame.</t>
- 6<t>May they be like grass on the roof,</t> <t>which withers before it can grow;</t>
- 7<t>a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,</t> <t>nor one who gathers fill his arms.</t>
- 8<t>May those who pass by not say to them,</t> <t>“The blessing of the LORD be on you;</t> <t>we bless you in the name of the LORD.”</t>
