Psalms 122

  1. 1<pb/><e>A song of ascents. Of David.</e> <pb/><t>I rejoiced with those who said to me,</t> <t>“Let us go to the house of the LORD.”</t>
  2. 2<t>Our feet are standing</t> <t>in your gates, Jerusalem. <pb/></t>
  3. 3<t>Jerusalem is built like a city</t> <t>that is closely compacted together.</t>
  4. 4<t>That is where the tribes go up—</t> <t>the tribes of the LORD—</t> <t>to praise the name of the LORD</t> <t>according to the statute given to Israel.</t>
  5. 5<t>There stand the thrones for judgment,</t> <t>the thrones of the house of David. <pb/></t>
  6. 6<t>Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:</t> <t>“May those who love you be secure.</t>
  7. 7<t>May there be peace within your walls</t> <t>and security within your citadels.”</t>
  8. 8<t>For the sake of my family and friends,</t> <t>I will say, “Peace be within you.”</t>
  9. 9<t>For the sake of the house of the LORD our God,</t> <t>I will seek your prosperity.</t>
